Airlines serving the Cuba-Mexico international niche
The flight options between Cuba and Mexico is another international niche that has seen impressive growth over the last couple of years, there are now four Mexican airlines offering direct services to this, the largest island in the Caribbean.
For its part, the Cuban flagship carrier Cubana de Aviacion has been connecting Cuba with Mexico for many years, though it withdrew services for several months -May to Dec. 2018- as a result -according to media reports- of a shortage of aircraft; however, it has since reintroduced its flights to both the Mexican capital and Cancun.
For its part, Mexico is currently represented in this international niche by four players, including its best-known airline: Aeromexico, the country’s flagship carrier. Also present is Interjet, a Mexican LCC, as well as the Mexican charter company: Magnicharters, and the latest entrant in this cross-border niche from Mexico is the country’s ULCC VivaAerobus, also -in this case- with charter options.
See below for further -airline specific- details on the routes uniting Mexico and Cuba.
