Airlines serving the Argentina-Mexico international niche
There are just two airlines participating in this international market niche, one is the Mexican flagship carrier Aeromexico, and the other is Aerolíneas Argentinas, the flagship airline for this South American country.
Regarding the direct Mexico – Argentina flights, the only direct destination served in Argentina is Buenos Aires, whilst two Mexican destinations are on offer by way of direct Argentina – Mexico flights, to Cancun on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, and to the capital of the Republic: Mexico City.

SkyTeam’s founding member airline: Aeroméxico, is the only Mexican airline offering direct Mexico – Argentina flights.The company’s services between these two countries unites the Mexico City Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE).

Aeroméxico connects Mexico City Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) and Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) with daily frequencies, currently -Sept. 2019- operated using Aeromexico’s Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Aeromexico also commercializes direct flights uniting Cancun International Airport (CUN) with Buenos Aires (EZE) through its codeshare agreement with its SkyTeam partner Aerolineas Argentinas, with five weekly frequencies; the codeshare between these airlines was signed in Dec. 2017.

According to the Argentinian Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC), Aeromexico participated with a 1.5% share of the passengers arriving to the country by air in both 2015 and 2016.

Argentinian airlines with direct flights to Mexico
AEROLÍNEAS ARGENTINAS in Mexico
The Argentinian flagship carrier Aerolíneas Argentinas is the only Argentinian-based airline with direct Argentina – Mexico flights, at present offering two Mexican destination options in its route portfolio: Cancun (CUN) and Mexico City (MEX), both of which are served from the Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE).
Aerolíneas Argentinas services between the Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE-CUN) Cancun International Airport are currently -Sept. 2019- operated using the company’s Airbus Airbus A330 aircraft with direct scheduled flights on Mon., Thurs., Sat. and Sundays.
The company’s Buenos Aires – Mexico City flights are promoted through its codeshare agreement with its SkyTeam partner -the Mexican flagship carrier- Aeroméxico, which operates the said route.
Aerolineas Argentinas was founded on Dec. 7, 1950., and first introduced flights to Mexico on August 1, 1974., albeit with a stopover in Bogota (Colombia). On Feb. 5, 2000., this carrier relaunched flights to Mexico City, this time offering services on its Airbus A310 aircraft family. Then, on Nov. 30, 2010., Aerolineas Argentinas signed an agreement for its incoproration into SkyTeam, the global airline alliance.
On March 3, 2011., the carrier once again added Mexico City to its route portfolio, with 4 direct weekly flights. And, on March 1, 2012., the airline renewed its Frequent Flier program: Aerolíneas Plus, with its ‘miles’ finally being accepted by the other SkyTeam member airlines as of August 29, 2012., and thus became the first South American airline to become a full member.
This was followed, on Feb. 7, 2017., with a codeshare agreement being signed with the Mexican carrier Aeromexico, one of SkyTeam’s founding members. Aerolineas Argentinas -in July 2018- was operating a fleet of 82 aircraft, a mix of Airbus, Boeing and Embraer models.
Aerolineas Argentinas is the only South American airline providing direct Argentina – Mexico flights.
