Airlines serving the Belize-Mexico international niche
In recent times, only one Mexican carrier has provided direct scheduled services uniting Mexico and Belize -for the winter season 2018/19- the Grupo Aeroméxico affiliate: Aeromexico Connect, which covers all the Group’s Central American destinations.
Meanwhile, from Belize, there is currently just one option regarding direct scheduled services uniting Belize with Mexico, offered by ‘the Airline of Belize,’ official name: Tropic Air. See below for further details.

TROPIC AIR in Mexico
The Belize-based regional airline: Tropic Air provides just one direct cross-border route between Belize and Mexico, uniting Belize City (BZE-CUN) Cancun with daily direct scheduled services.
Tropic Air is a member of the Latin American Airlines Association (ALTA) and -in the 2019 edition of TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards– Tropic Air walked away with the award for the Specialty and Leisure Category for Latin America.
Besides the company’s direct Belize – Mexico flights., once you’re in Belize City you have flight options to two other Central American countries with Tropic Air. According to official passenger figures released by Mexico’s Transport and Communications Ministry (SCT) -throughout 2018- Tropic Air transported 4,833 passengers from Belize to the Mexican Republic; it operates a fleet of 17 aircraft, 14 of which are the Cessna 208B aircraft, the company’s choice for its Belize City-Cancun flights.
